BRS Alleges Irregularities in Hyderabad's PM Ekta Mall Tender

KT Rama Rao has demanded the immediate cancellation of the PM Ekta Mall tender in Raidurg, alleging that the Congress-led Telangana government structured the deal to favor private developers. The BRS leader warned that the current project terms threaten to squander public assets and misuse federal financial assistance.

In a formal appeal to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Rao requested an immediate freeze on fund disbursements for the project. He argues that the tender conditions grant a disproportionate share of commercial space to a consortium involving Vamsiram Builders & Developers Pvt. Ltd. and Aparna Infrahousing Pvt. Ltd., effectively sidelining the public interest. The project, backed by approximately Rs 2,059.81 crore in Central support, has become a focal point of partisan friction over the management of state-subsidized infrastructure.

Rao insists that the current arrangement risks the long-term value of public land and calls for an independent investigation to ensure fiscal transparency. By prioritizing private entitlement over the state's share, the government faces accusations of facilitating a windfall for chosen developers at the expense of taxpayers.
