Since July 18, at least 20 warehouses operated by the e-commerce giant Wildberries have been targeted by drone strikes, prompting the regulatory intervention. The central bank's Monday circular explicitly encourages creditors to accommodate businesses facing financial distress caused by these security incidents.
Major financial institutions, including Sberbank, VTB, and Wildberries Bank, have confirmed their commitment to the relief effort. Sergei Melamed, a senior executive at Sberbank, stated that the bank has already processed approximately 2,000 applications for loan restructuring from impacted clients. This initiative aims to stabilize local supply chains and prevent widespread insolvency among vendors struggling to recover from the infrastructure damage.
