Jeong steps into the role with 17 years of professional experience, including a nine-year tenure at the bank. He previously served as a senior advisor to the ADB President, where he provided guidance on institutional priorities. His background spans both the public and private sectors, having worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company and as a program officer for the United Nations World Food Programme. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
In his new capacity, Jeong will oversee the implementation of the 2025–2028 country partnership strategy, which aligns with Mongolia’s New Recovery Policy and Vision 2050. He intends to coordinate closely with government officials and private stakeholders to bridge the gap between public development goals and market-driven opportunities. Since joining the ADB in 1991, Mongolia has received approximately $4.99 billion in funding, a portfolio Jeong is now responsible for navigating through an era of shifting economic pressures.
