The plan includes the deployment of interactive portals to unify information management across the health network, ensuring that specialists remain connected to rural clinics.
Artificial intelligence will serve as a diagnostic aid, supporting clinical monitoring and long-term continuity of care. According to IDB Group Representative in Argentina Viviana Alva-Hart, the goal is to integrate these tools into the daily workflows of healthcare professionals rather than treating technology as an isolated upgrade. Governor Alberto Weretilneck noted that the funding will specifically modernize infrastructure within hospitals and primary care centers, while ensuring all new platforms meet international accessibility standards for patients with disabilities.
This investment represents the second operation under Argentina’s "Digital Transformation in Health" credit line. The loan features a 25-year maturity period and a 5.5-year grace period, with interest indexed to SOFR. By prioritizing early detection for prevalent chronic diseases, the program seeks to create a more resilient and accessible safety net for those relying entirely on the public health sector.
