BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo issued a sharp rebuke to the state administration on Monday, demanding an immediate halt to heavy-handed tactics against the demonstrators. He specifically challenged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to engage with the students’ grievances rather than deploying pellet guns and riot police. The opposition claims that the presence of security forces, alongside the reported house arrest of MP Aditya Sahu, signals an attempt to silence legitimate dissent.
Inside the capital, political maneuvering is intensifying. Babulal Marandi, the Leader of the Opposition, convened with party MLAs to coordinate their stance as the protests show no sign of waning. The students remain firm on their core demands: the total cancellation of the disputed examinations, a formal CBI investigation into the alleged misconduct, and a complete overhaul of recruitment protocols. For these protesters, the current state response is not merely a security measure but an obstruction of accountability.
