Sanjay Raut Links Parliamentary Deadlock to Jantar Mantar Violence

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut declared Monday that parliamentary proceedings will remain stalled until the government addresses the recent violence at Jantar Mantar. Demanding accountability for the attacks on protestors, Raut insisted that no legislative business will proceed smoothly while the no-confidence motion remains sidelined by the current administration.

Speaking in New Delhi, the lawmaker demanded transparency regarding the specific orders issued during the protest crackdown. He signaled that his party intends to maintain pressure on the government, ensuring these grievances take precedence over pending bills.

Beyond the Jantar Mantar dispute, Raut addressed recent political optics, dismissing concerns over opposition members meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He defended the interactions as routine administrative engagement, citing Supriya Sule’s suggestion for a collective approach to constituency-related issues as a standard parliamentary practice rather than a sign of political realignment. The MP simultaneously pivoted to national security concerns, questioning the efficacy of law and order in West Bengal following reports of an assault on former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s convoy.
