Sikkim BJP Leads Har Ghar Tiranga March Ahead of Independence Day

Sikkim streets filled with the saffron, white, and green of the national flag on Sunday as the local BJP wing organized a spirited 'Har Ghar Tiranga Yatra.' The procession served as a precursor to Independence Day, honoring both historical freedom fighters and the soldiers currently stationed along India's borders.

Sikkim BJP President Dr. Thapa addressed participants during the event, emphasizing the campaign's role in cultivating national pride and goodwill. The march follows a federal directive scheduling commemorative initiatives between August 9 and August 14. To ensure widespread participation, party organizers confirmed plans to distribute the Tricolour to households throughout the state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign in 2022 as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. The program encourages citizens to hoist the national flag at their residences, framing the gesture as a reflection of national unity and sovereignty.
