Uttarakhand Rallies for Har Ghar Tiranga Ahead of Independence Day

Thousands of residents are marching through Dehradun as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga initiative, a campaign designed to celebrate national heritage. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami joined the procession today, framing the local enthusiasm as a reflection of India’s sharpening profile and growing confidence on the global stage.

The state-wide rallies serve as a centerpiece for this year’s Independence Day preparations in Uttarakhand. Dhami credited the current national momentum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, arguing that the country is shedding its hesitation to assert a more dominant position in international affairs. By linking local participation in Devbhoomi to broader geopolitical shifts, the Chief Minister underscored the symbolic importance of the flag-bearing marches.

First launched in 2022 during the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the campaign has expanded its scope for this iteration. Organizers have integrated the 150th anniversary of the anthem 'Vande Mataram' into the programming, which includes a mix of exhibitions, concerts, and public rallies. These events aim to translate government policy into a grassroots display of unity, reinforcing the state's long-standing reputation for prioritizing national security and service.
