Deadly Drone Barrage Strikes Belgorod and Russian Port Infrastructure

The assault ignited residential fires and triggered widespread defensive maneuvers across the country, as debris rained down on critical export infrastructure in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk.

Acting regional governor Alexander Shuvayev confirmed the strikes hit two apartment buildings, prompting emergency crews to battle blazes while assessing widespread structural damage. The Russian Defence Ministry reported a significant defensive operation, claiming its forces intercepted and destroyed more than 150 drones across the European territories, the Black Sea, and the Sea of Azov.

Beyond the casualties in Belgorod, the scale of the offensive extended deep into the Russian interior. In Novorossiysk, Mayor Alexander Kravchenko stated that falling debris impacted two separate sites within the strategic export hub. Meanwhile, in the Bashkortostan region, local emergency services reported that a drone struck a construction site and a crane in the city of Ufa, marking an increasingly broad geographic reach for the aerial campaign.
