Twin Falls Mourns Victims of In-N-Out Shooting

Police identified the deceased as 23-year-old Ashley Garibay of Stockton, California, a trainer for the burger chain; 66-year-old Dale Schultz of Salt Lake City; and 59-year-old Christopher Claunch of Hagerman, Idaho. Claunch, affectionately known to friends as "Toph," had recently dedicated his life to helping others overcome alcohol addiction after completing his own rehabilitation program. Garibay, who aspired to manage an In-N-Out location, was remembered by her family as a driven and contagious presence. Schultz’s wife, Reinette, remains hospitalized recovering from injuries sustained during the violence.

The attack triggered a chaotic scene as patrons scrambled to safety. Witnesses reported seeing the gunman, identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, emerge from the drive-thru armed with an AR-style rifle. The violence was partially curtailed when an off-duty state trooper and a civilian engaged Williams with a pistol, a move police believe diverted the gunman away from the restaurant's interior. Among the survivors is Steven Pixley, who was struck by gunfire while riding his motorcycle nearby and now faces a lengthy recovery. Residents gathered Tuesday night at a local park to honor the lives lost, leaving notes on memorial crosses as the city lowered flags to half-staff.
