The controversy surrounding the management of offerings at the Ayodhya temple has become a central point of friction in the current Monsoon Session. Samajwadi Party members recently staged a symbolic protest in the legislature, highlighting what they describe as a lack of transparency. Prasad maintains that despite party chief Akhilesh Yadav exposing the issue weeks ago, authorities have refused to initiate a substantive investigation, leaving millions of devotees without answers regarding the missing contributions.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has dismissed the allegations, citing an initial report from a Special Investigation Team that cleared local sadhus and saints of wrongdoing. Adityanath characterized the opposition’s persistent questioning as both unconstitutional and an affront to the legacy of B.R. Ambedkar. He further accused the Samajwadi Party of historical misconduct in Ayodhya, framing their current parliamentary tactics as a politically motivated distraction from the findings of the state-led inquiry.
