Yogi Adityanath Clears Sages in Ram Temple Donation Probe

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has dismissed allegations involving religious figures in the Ram Mandir donation theft case, citing initial findings from a Special Investigation Team. The Chief Minister used the report to launch a sharp rebuke against the Samajwadi Party, labeling their parliamentary conduct as both undemocratic and unconstitutional.

Addressing the assembly during the monsoon session, Adityanath asserted that the SIT investigation into the alleged embezzlement of temple offerings has found no links to any sadhu or saint. He pivoted from the findings to attack the opposition, accusing the Samajwadi Party and Congress of orchestrating a campaign to damage the state’s reputation. The Chief Minister further condemned opposition members for wasting legislative time on these accusations instead of engaging with the government's supplementary budget agenda.

The political friction follows the state’s recent move to appoint a new SIT, led by Inspector General of Police Kiran S, following directives from the Supreme Court. While opposition leader Mata Prasad Pandey insists on maintaining pressure regarding the donation scandal, the government continues to focus on the eight suspects already in custody. Investigators are currently tracing the financial trail to determine if further assets or individuals were involved in the misappropriation of funds at the Ayodhya site.
