Congress MLAs quit after Karnataka cabinet snub

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar dismissed the departures as a routine political reality, noting that ambition often clashes with party discipline. He pointed to his own history of being sidelined during the tenures of former leaders Dharam Singh and Siddaramaiah, arguing that patience remains the only path to long-term political survival. Shivakumar insisted that those who prioritize the party’s future should remain within the fold rather than resorting to public displays of discontent.

While the leadership acknowledged the frustration among those left out of the cabinet, Shivakumar promised that appropriate responsibilities would be delegated to the disgruntled members. He has already directed newly sworn-in ministers to shift their focus to drought relief assessments in their respective districts. The party plans to engage in direct talks with the dissenting MLAs to manage the fallout and prevent further attrition within the ranks.
