Elangovan characterized the backlash as a calculated effort by the Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam to target the DMK, claiming the party exists solely to attack their administration. Conversely, TVK MLA Rhevanth Charan condemned the rhetoric as a new low in political discourse. Charan accused the DMK leadership of resorting to cheap provocation to compensate for failing to gain public traction, warning that such conduct risks their total alienation from the electorate.
