Seven dead after drone strike on Black Sea resort beach

A drone strike on the Black Sea resort area of Arkhipo-Osipovka left seven people dead, including three children, and 40 injured on Monday. Russian officials labeled the incident a deliberate act of terrorism against civilians, while social media footage captured the moment of impact on the crowded beach.

Veniamin Kondratyev, governor of the Krasnodar region, stated the attack targeted a civilian area with no connection to military infrastructure. Emergency medical teams were immediately dispatched to the site, with the health ministry reporting that 21 victims required hospitalization, nine of whom remain in serious condition. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned the strike, echoing previous accusations regarding Kyiv's targeting of non-combatants.

Ukraine has not issued a formal response to the incident. While Kyiv has intensified long-range drone operations in recent months, these efforts have primarily focused on oil refineries and industrial infrastructure. The conflict, now in its third year, continues to see high civilian casualties on both sides of the border, with Moscow frequently launching strikes on Ukrainian urban centers while facing its own increasing exposure to deep-territory attacks.
