Senators John Cornyn of Texas and Thom Tillis of North Carolina withheld their support for Blanche’s nomination until the Justice Department provided written assurances that the fund would be terminated. Cornyn’s office confirmed an agreement with the department, which includes a binding document clarifying that the audit settlement is strictly limited to the original plaintiffs.
