Booth Level Officers now have until August 10, 2026, to finalize house-to-house visits and complete the necessary rationalization of polling stations. Following these field operations, officials will publish the draft electoral roll on August 17. Residents will then have exactly one month to submit claims or report objections, with the commission setting a window ending October 15 for the final processing of these filings.
Electoral authorities must now circulate these revised dates through public media channels and provide formal written notice to all active political parties. The commission’s decision arrives as neighboring Andhra Pradesh concludes its own revision phase, where authorities recently identified 15.22 lakh deceased individuals and 7.37 lakh cases of duplicate enrollment across the state registry.
