Technical analysis complicates the political narrative. A Minnesota Fusion Center memo and reports from The New York Times suggest the July 26 and 27 attacks align with established Iranian cybersabotage campaigns. These incidents mirror hacking patterns documented in a July 22 federal advisory involving the FBI, NSA, and EPA, which explicitly identified Iranian-affiliated actors. Despite federal reports confirming similar disruptions in at least seven states, the FBI has yet to issue a formal attribution, stating only that it is coordinating with partners to secure critical systems.
