The Lok Sabha successfully passed the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Bill, an outcome that prompted Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju to rebuke opposition lawmakers. Rijiju argued that the schedule for the bill had been mutually agreed upon in committee, challenging the opposition’s claims that the legislation was forced through without sufficient debate.
