YSRCP demands Nara Lokesh’s resignation over DSC recruitment claims

Labeling the state's teacher recruitment drive a "Daga DSC"—or fraud—YSRCP leaders marched to the Vijayawada District Collector’s office on Friday to demand the immediate resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, citing alleged back-door job sales and irregularities within the sports quota selection process.

MLC Ruhulla spearheaded the accusations, insisting Lokesh follow precedent and step down on moral grounds. The party contends that the recruitment process, intended to fill teaching vacancies, has been compromised by corruption that favors unqualified candidates over gold-medal athletes. Former Minister Vellampalli Srinivas specifically pointed to the sports quota, alleging that participants with minimal credentials secured positions while high-achieving competitors were sidelined.

Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy criticized the government for failing to address documented evidence of leaks and mismanagement, arguing that the administration is opting for deflection instead of transparency. To escalate the pressure, the YSRCP has scheduled a series of demonstrations, beginning with town hall meetings on August 3 and 4, followed by relay hunger strikes. The campaign will culminate in constituency-wide rallies on August 10, as the party challenges the government to submit to a CBI inquiry.
