The cognac division served as the primary engine for the quarter, posting a 7.7% organic sales increase fueled by demand across Asia-Pacific markets outside of China. This performance offers a reprieve for the French spirits group, which has struggled with significant destocking among U.S. distributors and cooling interest from Chinese consumers.
However, the broader portfolio faced headwinds as the liqueurs and spirits segment declined by 6.6%. Management attributed this drop largely to shipment timing complications within the U.S. market. While the uptick in Remy Martin sales provides a buffer, market analysts remain cautious, suggesting that the current growth trajectory lacks the depth required to confirm a definitive recovery in the firm's most critical global regions.
