Deadly Strikes Across Eastern Front Line Claim Seven Lives

Seven civilians died and scores more suffered injuries Monday as artillery and drone strikes hammered the Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. The violence underscores the intensifying pressure on Ukrainian defensive hubs, while counter-strikes hit Russian territory, further escalating the cycle of casualties on both sides of the border.

In the contested Donetsk region, prosecutors confirmed three fatalities near Kostiantynivka. The status of the city remains a point of sharp disagreement; while Russian officials claim to have captured the settlement, Ukrainian authorities maintain that the front line has not shifted. Nearby Kramatorsk, a critical logistical anchor for the Ukrainian military, also sustained lethal hits during the bombardment.

Further west, Dnipropetrovsk governor Oleksandr Hanzha reported three deaths and six injuries following a barrage of over 50 drone and artillery assaults. The conflict spilled across the border as well, with officials in Russia’s Belgorod region noting that a Ukrainian drone strike on a commercial building left one person dead and two others injured.
