India’s Engineering Exports Surge Despite Global Logistics Strains

The Engineering Export Promotion Council of India reports that the United States, Germany, and China served as the primary engines for this growth. Shipments to China saw a particularly sharp escalation, climbing 74% to reach $361.47 million. This performance highlights the sector's resilience, as engineering goods now represent more than one-quarter of the nation’s total merchandise exports.

While traditional trade hubs like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates faced a decline in incoming Indian goods, new partnerships provided a necessary buffer. Most notably, exports to Oman increased fourfold, successfully offsetting regional losses. Industry observers suggest that continued government intervention remains essential to shield these supply chains from ongoing geopolitical instability and the persistent threat of rising transportation expenses.
