Beyond the legal threat, the BRS working president accused the Chief Minister of fabricating these claims to deflect public scrutiny from ongoing national examination irregularities. Rao characterized the narrative as a political maneuver, even hinting at a clandestine understanding between the Congress and BJP. To resolve the dispute, he proposed a live, televised lie detector test to establish his innocence and force a withdrawal of the accusations.
