The integration allows organizations to connect to Azure through two distinct peering sites within the same metropolitan area using a single connection. This architecture provides built-in redundancy, significantly lowering the risk of service interruptions for mission-critical business workloads. By securing this designation, Johannesburg joins an elite group of international technology hubs capable of supporting the high-bandwidth requirements of artificial intelligence and complex digital services.
Complementing this infrastructure, Cassava’s cloud and cybersecurity division, Liquid C2, has launched Secure CloudConnect. As the only provider with an on-net presence at both Johannesburg peering locations, Liquid C2 offers a managed service that blends private connectivity with integrated security layers. According to Microsoft South Africa CEO Vukani Mngxati, such resilience is a prerequisite for South Africa’s growing participation in the global AI economy. The initiative aims to provide businesses with a stable foundation to meet stringent regulatory demands regarding data protection and risk management while accelerating their transition to advanced cloud environments.
