Yogi Adityanath Launches Major Restoration of Sambhal Pilgrimage Sites

Standing before a crowd in Chandausi, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced the restoration of 68 pilgrimage sites across the Sambhal district. The initiative seeks to reclaim the region's cultural identity, framing the project as a direct response to historical desecrations that date back to 1526.

The government’s plan includes the installation of two monumental statues: a 145-foot-tall figure of Lord Ganpati and a 51-foot-tall statue of Lord Ram. Adityanath linked these developments to the broader agenda of the BJP administration, positioning the restoration as a reclamation of sacred heritage under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Beyond cultural preservation, Adityanath pivoted to the state's recent track record on land management and public safety. He claimed that the administration has recovered 10,000 acres of encroached land and credited the current leadership with ending the cycle of civil unrest. According to the Chief Minister, the state has remained free of riots for the past nine years, a shift he contrasted sharply with the policies of previous state governments.
