The Shankaracharya contends that the leadership within the RSS lacks genuine reverence for Lord Ram, noting an absence of religious iconography in their offices. His critique extends to the operational conduct of the temple, which he suggests now functions more like a corporate entity than a sacred space. He specifically challenged Govind Giri regarding his involvement in the legal proceedings surrounding the temple, signaling an intent to pursue formal legal action.
Beyond ideological disputes, the religious leader highlighted systemic exclusion within the temple grounds. He reported that during the consecration ceremony, 5,000 invited saints were barred from the sanctum sanctorum, a space restricted exclusively for VVIPs. He argued that the idol of Ram Lalla has been stripped of its historical significance through this management style. Declining to visit the site in its current state, the Shankaracharya stated he would only return once the temple is fully established as a place of worship, rather than the office-like environment he perceives today.
