Congress Prepares for Confrontation in Monsoon Session

As the Monsoon Session of Parliament approaches, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has signaled a combative stance, warning that the government must address urgent crises in Ayodhya, Manipur, and the education sector. He suspects the ruling party will attempt to derail debates to evade accountability on these contentious national issues.

Gogoi intends to coordinate with the INDIA bloc and broader opposition ranks to forge a unified strategy against upcoming legislative proposals. The party’s strategy centers on forcing direct answers from the government, specifically challenging attempts to sidestep scrutiny on foreign policy and domestic turmoil.

Simultaneously, the opposition is intensifying its resistance to the proposed Delimitation Bill. MP Pramod Tiwari and party leadership argue the legislation is being disguised as a women’s reservation initiative to mask its true intent. Mallikarjun Kharge has formally urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to hold an all-party meeting to address the bill, which stalled in previous sessions due to a lack of consensus.
