The legislative calendar highlights the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026, and the Viksit Bharat Shiksha Adhishthan Bill, 2025, as central points of contention. These legacy measures have remained in the pipeline for months, and their re-emergence signals a push to formalize policy changes before the session concludes in mid-August.
Beyond these, the government plans to introduce five new bills, including the Income-tax (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the Supreme Court (Number of Judges) Amendment Bill, 2026. These initiatives are designed to transition existing ordinances into permanent legislative frameworks. However, the path to passage remains blocked by vocal resistance. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh has already signaled that the opposition will challenge the Delimitation Bill, setting the stage for the intense parliamentary debates expected over the coming weeks.
