Mrityunjay Tiwari Quits RJD Amid Internal Party Friction

After two decades of service, Rashtriya Janata Dal spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari resigned from all party positions on Thursday. Citing persistent humiliation and a lack of support from senior leadership, Tiwari has publicly challenged opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav to evaluate the deteriorating internal dynamics currently plaguing the party’s organizational structure.

Tiwari’s departure marks a significant rupture for the RJD, particularly given his long-standing history with the leadership. He noted that he began his tenure as a media in-charge in 2014 following a direct request from national president Lalu Prasad Yadav. Despite his contributions to the party's growth over the last twenty years, he claims his repeated grievances regarding disrespectful treatment by colleagues were ignored by senior figures, including Tejashwi Yadav.

Following a meeting with state president Mangni Lal Mandal, Tiwari released a video statement confirming his exit. While he maintains personal respect for Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi, his disillusionment with the current party environment is clear. He is now consulting with his supporters to plot his next political trajectory, with local speculation mounting that he may pivot toward the BJP.
