Wang’s delegation held high-level discussions with Jo Yong Won, a senior figure in the Workers’ Party, to operationalize the agreements reached during President Xi Jinping’s June visit to the North Korean capital. That earlier trip marked the first such visit by a Chinese leader in seven years, serving as a platform to reaffirm the nations’ 65-year friendship and their unique mutual defense pact.

Beyond ceremonial displays, the dialogue focused on expanding cooperation in economic, political, and cultural spheres. Kim Jong Un utilized the meeting to reiterate his unwavering support for the 'One China' principle regarding Taiwan, effectively aligning his regime with Beijing’s core geopolitical objectives. For North Korea, the exchange serves as a vital channel to secure the economic and strategic backing necessary to navigate an increasingly complex regional landscape.
