Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay has launched a joint security operation alongside Kerala to dismantle drug trafficking networks operating across the state borders. Kerala Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala confirmed the launch of 'Operation Toofan,' which focuses on aggressive intelligence-sharing and heightened police presence to mitigate substance abuse in the region.

Simultaneously, state leadership gathered to commemorate the 124th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister K. Kamaraj. Chief Minister Vijay joined BJP leaders in honoring the legacy of the late statesman, who is widely recognized for his educational reforms and the influential 'Kamaraj Plan.' The observance served as a reminder of the historical foundations currently shaping the administration’s public policy priorities.
