The 200-room hotel has already catalyzed local economic activity since its November 2025 opening, creating over 200 direct jobs. By integrating local food suppliers, maintenance firms, and transport providers into its supply chain, the project functions as a significant engine for regional small business growth. CEO Mokhtar Mohamed Ebeye noted that the property establishes new benchmarks for quality and service, fostering professional skill development within the domestic hospitality workforce.
Beyond immediate employment, the facility is designed to meet EDGE green building standards, utilizing energy-efficient technologies and advanced water management to minimize its environmental footprint. Olivier Buyoya, IFC Regional Director for West Africa, emphasized that such infrastructure is critical for attracting global investors and strengthening local value chains. This project aligns with the IFC’s broader strategy in Mauritania, where the organization has mobilized nearly $2.1 billion over the last five fiscal years to support sectors ranging from mining and agribusiness to financial services.
