AAP Allegations Spark Voter Roll Dispute in Okhla

Amanatullah Khan has accused the Election Commission of India of orchestrating a targeted purge of 100,000 to 150,000 voters in the Okhla assembly constituency. The AAP legislator claims the move is a politically calculated effort to strip non-BJP supporters from the electoral register ahead of upcoming polls.

Khan contends that Booth Level Officers are neglecting their oversight responsibilities, citing instances where officials failed to conduct mandatory home verifications or ignored direct communication from residents. These claims surface during the commission's ongoing Special Intensive Revision across Delhi, a process intended to verify the integrity of the city's voter database.

While the Election Commission continues its door-to-door enumeration across 13 districts, the timeline for the revision remains fixed. The draft electoral roll is scheduled for release on August 5, providing a window for public claims and objections that closes on September 4. The final, verified register is slated for publication on October 7.
