Senators Press Trump Administration Over Minab School Strike

A bipartisan group of Democratic senators, led by Kirsten Gillibrand, has issued a one-week ultimatum to the Trump administration demanding the disclosure of military investigative findings regarding a February 28 strike in Minab that left over 175 civilians dead at an Iranian girls' school.

The lawmakers, including ranking member Jack Reed, are calling for an immediate briefing and the release of an unclassified report on the incident. The strike, which targeted a site later described as a missile base, represents one of the most severe civilian casualty events involving U.S. forces since the 1991 Iraq campaign. Senators are now turning their attention to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Admiral Brad Cooper to secure accountability for the high death toll.

While the military investigation into the complex operation remains ongoing, the administration has yet to define a formal position on the tragedy. The senators contend that transparency is essential to address the catastrophic loss of life and to establish clear protocols for future operations. President Trump has not yet commented on the demand or the underlying investigative report.
