Advocate Parimoksh Seth, acting on behalf of the regional BJP, served the notice via email and speed post, characterizing the Chief Minister's claims as baseless and defamatory. The party is now demanding proof to substantiate these allegations, which were first aired during a recent National Conference rally. BJP state president Sat Paul Sharma maintains that the remarks have caused significant damage to the organization’s reputation.
Abdullah has been granted a seven-day window to comply with the demand. Should he fail to issue a public apology, the BJP intends to initiate both criminal and civil defamation proceedings. The party has signaled its intent to seek 100 crore rupees in damages, marking a sharp intensification of the political friction between the two camps.
