The dispute traces back to a July 7 Delhi High Court directive, which prompted the commission to revisit the party’s registration status. While the ECI cites nearly 1,000 public objections filed on June 23 as grounds for the challenge, the party leadership contends that these complaints lack transparency. TRS representatives report that they were denied access to the content of these objections, preventing a formal rebuttal.
Labeling the pressure as politically motivated, the party is now demanding a rigorous verification of the claims and a formal personal hearing. With organizational structures already deeply embedded in local districts, the leadership maintains that any move to force a new identity constitutes an unfair disruption to their electoral participation.
