The friction intensified following a Sundarkand Path held at Rohini's Japanese Park, where Kejriwal appeared alongside his wife, Sunita Kejriwal, and senior party figure Manish Sisodia. The event served as a platform for the AAP to challenge the BJP's management of donations for the Ram Mandir project in Ayodhya. Kejriwal framed his party’s religious outreach as a necessary response to what he characterizes as the BJP's exploitation of faith for electoral gain.
Delhi BJP president Harsh Malhotra dismissed the proceedings as a shallow charade, labeling the Chief Minister a 'political Hindu' who pivots to religious displays only when election cycles approach. Malhotra maintained that the public is fully aware of the performative nature of these events, insisting that the electorate views the AAP’s sudden religious fervor as mere political theater rather than genuine devotion.
