Reddy confirmed that the government is now working under the technical guidance of the National Dam Safety Authority and the Central Water Commission to address critical structural failures. Expert teams are currently on-site, with a comprehensive diagnostic report expected by the end of August. This technical oversight marks a departure from the project's history of opaque management.
Beyond the engineering challenges, the Chief Minister signaled a broader political reckoning. He explicitly accused former leader K Chandrashekar Rao and his associates of unethical conduct during the project's construction phase. By framing the restoration as a fight against past malpractice, Reddy is positioning his administration to hold previous officials accountable for the project's current state of disrepair.
