YSRCP Demands Election Probe Amid Claims of Voter Data Misuse

YSRCP leaders have petitioned the Election Commission of India to investigate systemic irregularities in Andhra Pradesh’s voter revision process. The party alleges that unauthorized private actors are seizing official enumeration forms and funneling sensitive voter data into the MyTDP mobile application, threatening the integrity of the upcoming electoral rolls.

The allegations center on claims of political interference in the Summary Revision process, with the YSRCP citing a specific incident in Thamballapalle where an aide to a former TDP MLA reportedly pressured a Booth Level Officer to surrender official documents. Party officials are now demanding heightened security for election workers and a total ban on transferring sensitive administrative files to political entities. Beyond these claims, the party has requested a forensic audit of 36,388 suspected duplicate voter entries in the Kuppam Assembly Constituency to prevent electoral fraud.

The friction extends into broader governance, as Opposition Leader Botsa Satyanarayana accused the ruling coalition of abandoning campaign pledges regarding public services and education. Meanwhile, the political climate remains volatile: TDP state president Palla Srinivas Rao has countered these accusations by attacking former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. Rao specifically highlighted the former administration's shift from a single-capital plan for Amaravati to a controversial three-capital strategy, labeling the move a betrayal of public trust and a destabilizing force for regional investment.
