Dev contends that the Trinamool leadership has abandoned its traditional stronghold, leaving voters without clear answers or active outreach. She finds the party’s current posture particularly hypocritical, given their vocal insistence that officials who switch parties must resign and face the electorate again—a principle she claims to have personally upheld through her own move to the BJP.
According to Dev, the TMC’s governance narrative has systematically eroded public trust, leaving the party unable to mount a coherent defense of its record. While criticizing the vacuum left by the TMC, she contrasts their approach with the BJP’s grassroots presence. She credits the BJP with maintaining resilience in the region, even following previous electoral setbacks, and suggests that without a period of rigorous internal self-reflection, the Trinamool Congress will find its influence in West Bengal increasingly difficult to reclaim.
