The French presidency confirmed that the session will focus on maintaining momentum for Kyiv as it navigates the ongoing conflict with Russia. Behind closed doors, officials are drafting the technical framework for security guarantees intended to take effect once a potential ceasefire is reached between the warring parties. The Elysee noted that the coalition is expanding, with Moldova and North Macedonia officially joining the effort.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa are also confirmed to attend. This diplomatic push arrives amid a shifting political landscape, as U.S. President Donald Trump has adopted a more favorable posture toward Kyiv during recent G7 and NATO engagements, signaling a potential realignment in how Western allies approach the conflict.
