Punjab Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring confirmed the upcoming session, noting that Baghel plans to conduct individual discussions before bringing party stakeholders to a shared platform. Despite persistent rumors of a leadership crisis, Warring challenged the narrative of a fractured unit, asking critics to identify any senior figure openly defying his authority.
Recent days have seen a flurry of activity among Punjab Congress stalwarts. Figures including Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Pargat Singh, and Bharat Bhushan Ashu gathered on Thursday to project a facade of cohesion. While acknowledging that varying opinions exist within the ranks, Randhawa emphasized that the party remains a unified entity. MLA Rana Gurjeet Singh echoed this sentiment, describing the recent internal meetings as morale-boosting strategic sessions focused on defending democratic principles rather than addressing a terminal deadlock. Baghel, for his part, maintains that the high command’s decisions regarding organizational appointments are final, signaling a firm stance as he attempts to stabilize the state unit.
