The indictment, filed in the Central District of California, details how the Bishnoi Organised Crime Group evolved into a transnational syndicate with reach spanning North America, Europe, and Australia. Despite his incarceration, Bishnoi allegedly directed operations using smuggled contraband cellphones and encrypted voice-over-internet protocols. Federal prosecutors identified Satinderjeet Singh, known as Goldy Brar, and Rohit Godara as primary ringleaders managing activities across North America and Europe, with Sukhraj Singh Kang serving as the group's India-based lieutenant.
The charges center on high-profile violence, including the June 2023 assassination of Khalistani separatist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Surrey, British Columbia, and the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Siddhu Moosewala. The document further links the gang to persistent threats and targeted shootings against Indian cultural figures, such as actor Salman Khan and singer Gippy Grewal. In one instance, the group allegedly claimed responsibility for the December 2024 killing of Sunil Yadav in Stockton, California, posting a warning on social media that no corner of the world was safe from their reach. Prosecutors allege these acts of violence were designed to target prominent business, political, and cultural leaders both within India and among the global diaspora.
