The PAC-3 interceptors are among the few Western-supplied systems capable of neutralizing the high-velocity ballistic threats currently targeting Ukrainian infrastructure. Zelenskiy emphasized that while the political framework is set, the focus now shifts to technical teams and executive ministries to expedite licensing and begin manufacturing within Ukraine. Beyond the Patriot agreement, a new military aid package is expected to arrive within the coming days.
Zelenskiy also outlined plans for deeper technological cooperation with Washington, including ongoing discussions regarding joint drone production. Currently, Ukraine is providing the U.S. with various aerial and marine drone models for testing purposes. Looking toward European partnerships, the president signaled that Kyiv is working with allies to develop a more cost-effective, mass-produced anti-missile system designed specifically for ballistic targets, with a planning meeting scheduled in France.
These developments follow a series of high-level meetings aimed at recalibrating ties between Kyiv and Washington. Describing his recent discussions with Trump as constructive, Zelenskiy noted a shift in the American administration’s posture. While broader, U.S.-brokered peace negotiations remain stalled amid competing geopolitical priorities, the current focus remains on reinforcing Ukraine’s immediate defensive capabilities against the ongoing Russian invasion.
