Grand Hyatt to Debut Luxury Hotel at Victoria Falls in 2027

A historic landmark near the world’s largest waterfall is set for a high-end transformation. Hyatt confirmed a management agreement with Albwardy Investments to rebrand the existing Kingdom hotel as a Grand Hyatt, bringing a 245-room luxury destination to the Zimbabwean site by late 2027.

The project involves an extensive renovation of the property, which first opened in 1966. By updating the facility, Hyatt aims to integrate modern amenities with the surrounding natural landscape, just a five-minute walk from the Victoria Falls rainforest. The hotel will house three dining venues, a spa, a fitness centre, and approximately 1,800 square metres of event space, catering to both international leisure travellers and business guests.

Ludwig Bouldoukian, Hyatt’s Regional Vice President for the Middle East and Africa, noted the expansion aligns with the company’s broader strategy to grow its footprint across the continent. For Albwardy Investments, the transition represents a commitment to elevating the site’s long-standing legacy. Once operational, the property will serve as the second Hyatt-branded location in Zimbabwe, providing World of Hyatt members with new avenues to earn and redeem loyalty rewards near the UNESCO World Heritage site.
