Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi characterized the verdict as a historic milestone, asserting that the judicial outcome sends a resolute message against terrorism on both national and international fronts. Speaking from Gandhinagar, Sanghavi praised the investigators and the judiciary for their persistence in securing convictions for the July 26, 2008, tragedy, which remains a defining moment in the state’s security history.
Beyond the sentencing, the state government has initiated compensation measures mandated by the court. Families of the deceased are set to receive Rs 10 lakh, while those who sustained critical injuries will be granted Rs 5 lakh. Sanghavi emphasized that this financial support serves as part of the state's broader commitment to stand by the victims while maintaining a rigid stance against extremist threats to national integrity.
