Airstrikes in Khan Younis Leave Two Dead as Gaza Tensions Rise

Two Palestinians were killed and several others wounded during Tuesday’s Israeli airstrikes in the southern Gaza Strip, according to local medical officials. The military operations targeted sites in Khan Younis, including an area near a camp for displaced families, marking another violent episode in the ongoing regional volatility.

The first strike in Khan Younis resulted in the death of one man and left two children injured, an action the Israeli military justified as a targeted operation against a Hamas militant. Hours later, a second airstrike struck near a makeshift campsite for displaced civilians, claiming another life and leaving five others wounded. The Israeli military has not yet provided a statement regarding the second incident.

These hostilities persist despite the U.S.-mediated ceasefire established in October 2023. Both Israel and Hamas continue to trade accusations over consistent breaches of the agreement, fueling instability in the territory. With the death toll reaching over 1,070 Palestinians and four Israeli soldiers since the conflict began, the situation on the ground remains fragile.
