Negligence Alleged After Fatal Landslide at Kerala Construction Site

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has called for an immediate mobilization of United Democratic Front workers to support the relief efforts. Emergency teams, including the National Disaster Response Force and local volunteers, are currently working to clear the site where eight survivors, including Hira Kumar and Dileep, were rescued and rushed to nearby hospitals.

Chief Minister VD Satheesan and Minister T Siddique have characterized the tragedy as a man-made catastrophe. According to local authorities, specific directives were issued to Konkan Railways to clear excavated soil from the area, yet these cautionary communications went unheeded. As ministers T Siddique and AP Anil Kumar travel to the scene to oversee the operation, the focus remains on the accountability of the contractors involved in the project.
