Standing in Ambala on Monday, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini honored the legacy of Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. Saini described Mookerjee as a guiding force whose commitment to national integrity transcends his era, influencing generations of political discourse. Born in Calcutta on July 6, 1901, the son of Sir Ashutosh Mookerjee spent his career as an educationist and parliamentarian before establishing the Bharatiya Jana Sangh on October 21, 1951.

This observance serves as the inaugural step for a series of events planned by the state government leading up to 2027. By highlighting Mookerjee’s pre-independence contributions and his role in defining India’s political landscape, the administration aims to solidify his position as a central figure in the nation's historical narrative.
